Trevithick Day 2009

I was lucky to be able Camborne Trevithick Day again this year, my 4th successive year. For me this is a highlight of the rally season, no other event is like it, having so many engines move around the streets and the reception the event gets from the public is something else:

The weather wasn’t very kind this year, particularly for photographs and engines numbers were down on previous years but this hardly mattered, Trevithick Day is always a special occasion.

On the Saturday I attended the Engineman’s Dinner which was a lively and enjoyable event attended by many engine owners and crew. On the Sunday there is a traditional road run around Camborne, I hitched a ride behind Rob Wing’s Burrell 3257 Clinker:

It was a great experience to be able to see first hand the engine climbing the steep hills on the Road Run and it also allowed me to get some different pictures of the scenery we passed through, including the World Heritage Mining area around Camborne:

After lunch I hitched a lift back in Charlie & Nicky Daniel’s living van behind Burrell 3919:

If you have never been to Trevithick Day it really must be experienced once, for more details visit the web site at:
