Stotfold Road Run 2009

The Annual Christmas Road Run was held around the streets of Stotfold and Arlesey in Bedfordshire on Tuesday 29 December. This is the traditional way for many to blow away the Christmas cob webs and get their last whiff of steam before the end of the year.

As normal the engines started out from Saunders yard in Stotfold, with the majority of engines being from the Saunders collection. The weather wasn’t kind, bitterly cold wind and snow forecast, those on trailers seemed happy to reach the sanctuary of the various pubs on the route. As always the route varied, this part of the world seems to have a wide variety of pubs to choose from and some new ones were included in the tour this year.
