Belvoir Castle Steam Festival 2009

Belvoir Castle hosted it’s annual steam event over the weekend of 16 & 17 May 2009. The rally again suffered with the weather, Saturday was wet and Sunday when I attended had heavy showers with occasional bright sunshine. The rally moved site last year which seems have reduced the problems with damp ground, however the parade on Sunday was canceled and as I left early I never saw an engine move.

Couple of interesting points, Marshall 17134 was making an appearance fully restored, the first time I have seen it since it appeared at the 50 Unseen engines event at GDSF in 2004:

The Wallis & Steevens roller of Mike Farmer, which has to be one of the most rallied engines in the country has received a set of very smart rubber tyres:

The Road Roller Association also had an excellent display which included 2 Aveling Barford rollers and a selection of diesel rollers and associated equipment:
